Eat the Crumbles, Pay the Bills

Eat the Crumbles
During the first month, I could barely speak German... and let's say it: the culture is very different, but there are things which are universal. She was pregnant (her baby was born one week after I arrived), but she was pregnant. We were walking and bumped into the grandmother of one of the kid's friends. She gave me some sort of cookies and told me I could eat them, since I was so skinny. Ok. But She, the mother, took the package and started devouring its content. I thought: it's normal, she is pregnant. She ate them all. What amazed me was that at the end she said: here, you can eat the rest... (I thought: am I the dog or what? is this normal for Germans to do?

Pay the Bills
they "invited" me to Tenerife. They thought I had never seen the sea before (Are they ignorant or what?) After, he (the father said) I never thought you could take a bathing (in the sea) vacation in Colombia...

There, I worked overtime and was hungry (They don't eat lunch). I had not taken money because I was saving it for Berlin. At the end, they gave me the bill. They payed for it, but they gave it to me anyway, just to show me how much they had payed. I just said: if you're expecting me to pay this, you'll have to wait. They wanted me to feel bad.
